PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball honors for the week ending Jan. 3.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Stewart produced 19.5 points per game, 7.5 rebounds and six assists while connecting on 58.6-percent of her shots from the field in a 2-0 week for the top-ranked Huskies. The forward moved up to No. 3 on UConn’s all-time scoring list with 2,182 career points, surpassing Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and Nykesha Sales. Stewart started the week with 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting, six rebounds, seven assists and two blocks in an 83-73 win over No. 6/5 Maryland in the Maggie Dixon Classic at Madison Square Garden. The product of North Syracuse, N.Y., recorded 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists in 22 minutes of action as the Huskies opened league play with a 107-45 win at Cincinnati on Wednesday.

Emery averaged seven points on 54.5-percent shooting from the floor and five rebounds as the Green Wave went 1-1 in their first two conference games. The freshman guard produced a 10-point, seven-rebound performance against Memphis on Sunday. Emery went 5-of-8 from the field against the Tigers. The Tampa, Fla., began league play with four points and three rebounds in 14 minutes of action in a win against Houston, 70-48.
