- NR/RV Houston (13-2, 3-0) topped Tulane (7-9, 0-3), 63-45 at Hofheinz Pavilion. Sophomore Rob Gray Jr. led all players with 15 points, while senior forward Devonta Pollard and junior forward Danrad Knowles each added 13 points. LeRon Barnes grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds as Houston outrebounded the Green Wave 50-32 with 20 offensive rebounds. With the win, the Cougars won their fifth straight game and improved to 3-0 in conference play for the first time since 2007-08. Houston also moved to 10-0 in Hofheinz Pavilion this season - topping their home win total from all of last season - and equaled their win total from the entire 2014-15 campaign.
- Redshirt junior Malik Morgan led Tulane with 11 points and seven rebounds. Senior Louis Dabney added eight points and four rebounds, while freshman Kain Harris finished with seven points.
- Memphis (10-4, 1-0) defeated Nicholls State, 82-46 in a nonconference matchup at FedExForum. Avery Woodson led the Tigers with 15 points, as four others – Nick Marshall, Ricky Tarrant Jr., Dedric Lawson, and Trahson Burrell – each finished with 12 points. Lawson had a team-high eight rebounds while Markel Crawford added seven rebounds to go with nine points. The Tigers' bench outscored the Colonels' reserves, 35-18. Thirteen Tigers saw action in the game as nine players scored.
- Junior Josh Brown hit the game-winning jumper with two second remaining to lift Temple (7-6, 2-1) to a 55-53 win over No. 23/24 UConn. The victory marked the Owls' second over a ranked team this season, and also head coach Fran Dunphy's 200th win. Dunphy is now one of just five Division I coaches to record 200 or more wins at two different schools while taking both to at least six NCAA Tournaments. Senior Quenton DeCosey led Temple with 15 points, followed by Devin Coleman's 14 points off the bench. Brown and Jaylen Bond finished with 11 apiece, while Bond added a game-best 10 rebounds.
- Shonn Miller led the Huskies (10-4, 1-1) with 18 points and seven rebounds. Rodney Purvis chipped in 11 points and Daniel Hamilton grabbed a team-high nine boards. UConn outscored the Owls in the paint, 22-18 and scored 11 points off of 12 Temple turnovers.
- Tulsa (9-6, 1-2) beat East Carolina (8-7, 0-2), 55-43 at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Rashad Smith notched a game-high 20 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Rashad Ray chipped in 11 points off the bench. Shaquille Harrison had seven rebounds and a game-high five assists to go with four points, a block, and a pair of steals. The Hurricane had a 43-42 edge in rebounds.
- Kentrell Barkley was the Pirates' only player to score in double figures, finishing with 10 points off the bench. Kanu Aja had nine points and a game-high 11 boards, B.J. Tyson added eight points, and Caleb White had seven points with six rebounds. East Carolina outscored the Golden Hurricane by 11 in the second half and shot 45.8 percent from the field, while allowing Tulsa to shoot just 22 percent.
