PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the seventh week of the 2016 college football season.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Quinton Flowers • Jr. • QB • USF • Miami, Fla.

Flowers accounted for 370 yards of total offense and was responsible for five touchdowns as the Bulls defeated UConn 42-27 to improve to 3-0 in The American. Flowers completed 23 of 37 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns and finished as the game’s leading rusher with 157 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries, including a 54-yard TD run in the first quarter to put USF on the scoreboard.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Austin Hall • Fr. • LB • Memphis • Collierville, Tenn.

Hall had a game-high 12 tackles with 3.0 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery to help Memphis remain unbeaten in conference play with a 24-14 win at Tulane. Hall led a defense that held the Green Wave to 169 rushing yards and 3.8 yards per carry and also had a recovery of on onsides kick in the first quarter.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jake Elliott • Sr. • K • Memphis • Western Springs, Ill.

Elliott scored 10 points, going 3-for-3 on field goal attempts in Memphis’ 24-14 win at Tulane, lifting the Tigers to 2-0 in The American. He connected on field goals of 37, 21 and 50 yards and finished the game tied for Memphis’ career record with 70 career field goals. Elliott also extended his streak of consecutive PATs made to 171.
