Worth, Pruitt, Boumerhi Earn Weekly Football Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the eighth week of the 2016 college football season.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Will Worth • Sr. • QB • Navy • Valrico, Fla.
Worth had a hand in five touchdowns to help No. 24/25 Navy to a 42-28 win against Memphis, leaving the Midshipmen as the only unbeaten team in American Athletic Conference play. He rushed for a career-high 201 yards and three touchdowns on 31 carries and completed 3 of 4 passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Worth led a Navy offense that churned out 447 rushing yards against the Tigers.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jarvis Pruitt • Sr. • DE • SMU • Houston, Texas
Pruitt, who was chosen as the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week, led an SMU defense that limited No. 11 Houston to a season-low 303 yards of offense in the Mustangs’ 38-16 win. Pruitt had three of the Mustangs’ seven sacks among his five tackles and he also added a first-quarter fumble recovery.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Aaron Boumerhi • Fr. • K • Temple • Philipsburg, Pa.
Boumerhi scored 14 points in the second game of his collegiate career to help Temple to a 46-30 win against USF. He connected on field goals of 22, 35 and 42 yards and was 5-for-5 on PATs against the Bulls, helping Temple move into a tie for first place in the East Division standings. Boumerhi has gone 5-for-5 on field goals since moving into the lineup.

Rushed for 210 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in a 46-30 win against USF.
 
James Flanders • Sr. • RB • Tulsa • Midwest City, Okla.
Rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in a 50-27 win against Tulane.
