PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the fifth week of the 2016 college football season.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Greg Ward Jr. • Sr. • QB • Houston • Tyler, Texas
Ward accounted for 454 yards of total offense and five touchdowns as the Cougars moved to 2-0 in American Athletic Conference play with a 42-14 win against UConn. Ward completed 32 of 38 passes for a career-high 389 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for a team-high 65 yards and two TDs on 12 carries. Ward improved to 23-2 all-time as Houston’s starting quarterback and won his 18th consecutive start, the longest active streak in the nation.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Haason Reddick • Sr. • DE • Temple • Camden, N.J.
Reddick led a Temple defense that held SMU to 89 rushing yards and 288 total yards in the Owls’ 45-20 win. He had four tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, including one that was returned for a touchdown, and a fumble recovery against the Mustangs. Reddick leads the American Athletic Conference with 7.0 tackles for loss in 2016.

Adrian Killins • Fr. • RB • UCF • Daytona Beach, Fla.
Killins made a game-changing play on special teams as he answered East Carolina’s first-quarter touchdown with a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown that tied the game in a 47-29 win in their conference opener. Killins finished with 113 all-purpose yards and became the fourth player in American Athletic Conference history with a 100-yard kickoff return.

Rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries and became USF’s career rushing leader (2,755 yards) in a 45-20 win at Cincinnati.
Johnny Ward • Sr. • DB • USF • Moultrie, Ga.
Had four tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception return or a touchdown in a 45-20 win at Cincinnati.
Ryquell Armstead • So. • RB • Temple • Millville, N.J.
Rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries in a 45-20 win against SMU.
Terren Encalade • So. • WR • Tulane • East Point à la Hache, La.
Had seven receptions for a career-high 125 yards and a touchdown in a 31-24 win at Massachusetts.
