PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer honors for the week ending Oct. 2.
Offensive Player of the Week
Stephanie Ribeiro * RS-Sr. * F * UConn
Ribeiro scored eleven points to start conference play. She led her team to a 2-0-0 record over the weekend, scoring a total of 11 points. Ribeiro tallied a career high six points in the Huskies match against Tulsa. She is tied for first in the nation with 12 goals and leads the nation with seven game-winning goals.
Defensive Player of the Week
Vanessa Gilles * Jr. * D * Cincinnati
Gilles played all 90 minutes in the Bearcats 1-0 victory over East Carolina. She blocked one shot and cleared several Pirate attempts in the shutout.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Natalie Smith * Sr. * Cincinnati
Smith made a season high eight saves to record the Bearcats third straight shutout. She leads the American in shutouts (5), goals-against average (0.27) and save percentage (.938). Smith ranks in the top five nationally in goals-against average as well as save percentage
Rookie of the Week
Anna Williams * Fr. * F * Tulsa
Williams gave a consistent effort for Tulsa to open conference play. She scored a goal in the loss to
21/16 UConn and had two assist in the Hurricanes victory over Temple. Williams started both matches.
Weekly Honor Roll

Scored the game-winning goal in the Bearcats 2-0 shutout over East Carolina
Rachel Hill * Sr. *F * UConn
Scored two goals in both UConn matches including the game-winning goal in the 4-2 victory over Tulsa

Netted both goals in the Bulls 2-1 victory over Houston.

Scored the game-winning goal at UCF as well as assisted in the game-tying goal in the match
