East Carolina 83 , Detroit Mercy 81(OT)
East Carolina won an overtime thriller as the Pirates defeated Detroit Mercy 83-81 to start the season 2-0. Kristen Gaffney scored a career high 32 points as she made a personal-best 15 field goals on 23 attempts and pulled down eight rebounds. Bre McDonald recorded her second double-double of the year with 15 points and 11 rebounds. 

UCF 70, South Alabama 58
UCF won its fourth straight home opener with a 70-58 win over South Alabama. Fifi Ndour led all players with 19 points for a career high. Zykira Lewis added 14 points while contributing four assists in the game.Joslyn Massey just missed recording her second straight double-double as she scored 11 points while grabbing nine rebounds.

Samford 48, Memphis 42
Memphis fell at Samford 48-42 on Sunday. Cheyenne Creighton led the Tigers with 13 points while Brea Elmore scored 10 for the Tigers. Taylor Williams led the team in rebounds with eight.

Houston 83, Southeastern Louisiana 80
Houston picked up a win in the Cougars season opener with an 83-80 win over Southeastern Louisiana. Freshman Angela Harris led the team with 22 points while also recording five assists and a rebound. Senior Jacqueline Blake scored a career-best 15 points while also recording six rebounds and a block.
