PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The 2016 NCAA Cross Country Championships take place on Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind., and will have representation from four American schools.
The women’s cross country championship begins at 11 a.m. ET and will have two runners from American schools. Senior Anne-Marie Blaney from UCF, the 2016 individual champion of the American Cross Country Championship, earned her spot by winning the South Region last Friday (Nov. 11). Blaney will be joined by SMU’s Hannah Miller, who finished fourth in the South Central Region to earn an automatic individual qualifier spot. Miller, a freshman, finished second in the American Cross Country Championship.
The men’s race will begin at approximately Noon ET. Tulsa qualified as a team with a second place finish in the Midwest Region and senior Luke Traynor, the individual champion of the American Cross Country Championship, took home the fourth Midwest Regional individual title in the last five years for the Golden Hurricane. Tulane’s Emmanuel Rotich qualified as an individual by winning the South Central Region. Rotich took home third in the American Cross Country Championships.
