Women's Volleyball: Thompson and Ruhlman take home weekly volleyball honors


 
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly volleyball honors for the week ending Nov. 20.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jordan Thompson • So. • RS • Cincinnati
Thompson helped the Bearcats to a 2-0 weekend with sweeps over Tulane and Houston. The sophomore averaged 4.83 kills per set including a 20 kill performance against Tulane, hitting .450 against the Green Wave on 40 attempts. Thompson led Cincinnati with a .359 hitting percentage over the weekend.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mady Ruhlman • So. • L • Memphis
Ruhlman led the Tigers defensively over the weekend, averaging 5.62 digs per set, over two digs higher than her season average. The sophomore posted a career-high 31 digs in a five-set win at Tulsa. Ruhlman has posted double-digit digs in 15 straight matches.
 
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL   
Jale Hervey • Sr. • OH • UCF
Hervey posted double-doubles in both matches over the weekend, averaging 3.67 kills per set and 3.56 digs per set. Against UConn, the senior posted 14 kills and 14 digs while hitting .351.
 
Alison Kimmel •Sr. • MB • Cincinnati
Kimmel averaged 2.33 blocks per set in Cincinnati’s two wins over the weekend to lead the team at the net. Kimmel also hit .375 against Tulane and added two service aces against the Green Wave.
 
Katie Hegarty • Jr. • RS • SMU
Hegarty led the Mustangs to a 2-0 weekend with 14 kills and nine digs in both matches. The junior averaged 4.67 kills per set with a .324 hitting percentage over the weekend.
 
Tyler Davis • Sr. • OH • Temple
Davis helped Temple’s offense to a 2-0 week recording just three errors on 57 swings. The senior hit .386 over the two matches, hitting .382 against UCF and .391 against USF while averaging 3.12 kills per set.
 
Brooke Berryhill • Sr. • L • Tulsa                                                                                      
Berryhill averaged 5.12 digs per set over the weekend, recording 24 digs against Memphis. The effort against Memphis was the 15th time that Berryhill has eclipsed the 20-dig mark this season.
