AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Kitija Laksa • So. • G/F • USF Laksa led USF to a 3-0 week, including a 2-0 record at the Junkanoo Jam, as the Bulls claimed the Lucaya division title. The sophomore was named the Lucaya division MVP after scoring 34 points in both games against North Carolina and Georgia. Laksa tied her career-high with eight 3-pointers in Saturday’s 81-65 win over the Bulldogs. She opened the tournament with her first career double-double (34 points, 10 rebounds) in an 83-55 win over the Tar Heels on Thursday. AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK Angela Harris • Fr. • G • Houston Harris led all scorers with a career-high 17 points last Wednesday in a matchup versus Texas State. The rookie also had a game-high seven steals against the Bobcats and averaged 4.5 steals per game in two games over the week. Harris leads Houston in scoring through the first five games of the season with 11.4 points per game.
