Offensive Player of the Week Matias Pyysalo * Jr. * M/F * UCF Pyysalo scored his third game-winning goal of the season and seventh of his career in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Cincinnati. The game was a must-win for UCF, who clinched a spot in the American Championship semifinals with the win. The goal was the 10th of the season for Pyysalo. He leads the league in goals per game in American play. Defensive Player of the Week Simen Olafsen * So. * B * UConn Olafsen scored the only goal for UConn Saturday in a 1-1 (2OT) draw against SMU. The Huskies, who needed a win or a tie to qualify for the American Men’s Soccer Championship, clinched the No. 3 seed at the tournament with the draw. Goalkeeper of the Week Jake McGuire* Sr. * Tulsa McGuire made eight saves and collected his 16th career shutout Friday in Tulsa’s 2-0 win over Memphis. The win gave the Hurricane the No. 2 seed in the American Athletic Conference Championship.
