Editor's Note: Heading into the Holiday Season and the end of 2016 we thought it would be nice to look back at some of the best plays from the past year. We scoured through lots of video footage and came up with our "12 Plays of Christmas". Every day we will reveal a new play that we consider to be one of our best from the year. The list will end on Christmas Day.
Day 10 - Stewie's Block Party
Basketball is very much a team sport, but Breanna Stewart single-handedly kept Duquesne from scoring on this possession in the second round of the 2016 NCAA tournament.
Stewart finished her four years at UConn as one of the most decorated women’s college basketball players to ever play the sport. She led the Huskies to a record four consecutive national championships and received nearly every woman’s college basketball award.
The North Syracuse native went first overall to the Seattle Storm in the 2016 WNBA and was followed by teammates Moriah Jefferson (San Antonio Stars) and Morgan Tuck (Connecticut Sun). This marked the first time teammates had been selected with the first three picks of the WNBA Draft.
