Highlights

Seven different players scored for UCF on Sunday as the Knights bested Bethune-Cookman, 70-43, at CFE Arena. Zykira Lewis had a game-high tying 15 points off the bench while Nyala Shuler and Fifi Ndour joined her in double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

• Napheesa Collier scored 24 points and No. 2 UConn won its 82nd consecutive game with a 72-54 victory over No. 14 Texas in the annual Jimmy V Classic at Mohegan Sun Arena. Kia Nurse added 15 points for the Huskies (7-0), who are in the midst of the second-longest winning streak in women's basketball history, trailing only their 90-game run from 2008-10.



East Carolina never trailed Sunday afternoon in posting a 66-58 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore at Minges Coliseum. ECU ran its season record in Greenville to 5-1 and has now won 24 of its last 25 non-conference home games. Bre McDonald scored a team-high 10 points for East Carolina while adding seven rebounds.

• Houston returned to the friendly confines of Hofheinz Pavilion with a 79-63 victory over College of Charleston on Sunday. Freshman guard Jasmyne Harris scored a career-high 17 points to lead the Cougars. Houston shot a season-best 46-percent from the field and 45-percent from beyond the 3-point line in the decision.

• Temple allowed a season-low 39 points, picking up a 54-39 victory over visiting Vermont on Sunday. Vermont shot just 28-percent in the game, while the Owls forced a season-high 23 total turnovers. Juniors Alliya Butts and Donnaizha Fountain tied for game-high honors with 16 points and three steals each, while Fountain contributed a team-high nine rebounds.
