Devonta Pollard Leads Houston Past Memphis, 98-90



HOUSTON -- Devonta Pollard had 23 of his career-high 34 points in the second half Wednesday night and Houston made eight of its last nine from the field to beat Memphis 98-90.

Pollard hit a jumper that tied it at 77 early in a 19-5 run with 5:34 left. Damyean Dotson's pair of free throws 26 seconds later gave the Cougars the lead for good on their way to a 91-82 edge with one minute remaining.



Pollard made 14 of 24 from the field and the Cougars (17-7, 7-5 American Athletic Conference) shot 55.9 percent. Dotson added 21 points, Galen Robinson Jr. scored 18 and LeRon Barnes 12.

The Tigers (14-10, 5-6) led by 13 in the first half and stayed ahead until Houston's late run.

Shaq Goodwin had 24 points and Dedric Lawson had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Memphis. Craig Randall II and Trahson Burrell added 10 points each.
