CHAMP CENTRAL
PROVIDENCE, R.I. –   The American Athletic Conference has recognized 96 student-athletes with All-Conference status following their performances at the conference's Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships last week in Houston.
 
The 2016 All-Conference team is comprised of 54 women and 42 men who finished among the top three in an event at last week's championships.
 
SMU won the women's team title for the second consecutive year after posting a first-place score of 681, while East Carolina repeated as the men's champion with the top score of 907.
 
The next competition for select American Athletic Conference competitors will be at the NCAA Championships. Swimmers who have qualified for the NCAA Women's Championship will be announced March 2, while the NCAA Men's Championship swimmers will be announced March 9.  Competitors in diving will be announced March 12, following the conclusion of the five zone diving meets.
 
The NCAA Men’s and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships will be hosted by the Georgia Institute of Technology at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center in Atlanta. The women’s competition will be held from March 16-19, while the men’s championship will take place from March 23-26.
