Penultimate Men's Basketball Weekly Honors Announced



PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference has announced winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for games ending Feb. 28.

Dotson led the Cougars to a 2-0 record last week with a pair of road wins at UCF and at UConn. The redshirt junior averaged a double-double with 19.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game and made 66.7-percent (16-of-24) of his shots from the field, including 50-percent (7-of-14) from the 3-point line. Dotson made at least three 3-pointers in each game last week.

Evans scored a career-high 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting with four 3-pointers to go with seven rebounds and two assists in Saturday’s 65-56 win at East Carolina. His 18 points marked the most points scored in a game by a Bearcat freshman since Sean Kilpatrick produced 18 points or more six times during the 2010-11 season. Evans made his fourth start of the season versus the Pirates in place of the injured Shaq Thomas.
