PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors, for the week ending Feb. 28.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lauren Evans • 1B • So. • USF • Land O' Lakes, Fla.
Evans has been selected as Player of the Week after recording nine hits in 18 at-bats over the Bulls’ last six games. The sophomore led the team with nine RBIs on the week and scored seven runs. She tallied five extra-base hits, with two doubles, two triples and a home run. The Land O’Lakes, Fla., native was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle in a 3-for-3 performance against Kansas on Feb. 26. Evans started all six games at first base and led the team in putouts, with 38.

Caitlin Sill • Sr. • Tulsa • Tuttle, Okla.
Sill has earned Pitcher of the Week honors after she went 2-0 with a 0.93 ERA in the circle last week for Tulsa. She led the Golden Hurricane to a 3-0 win over No. 24/21 Texas with a two-hit, complete-game shutout. She induced 12 ground-outs against the Longhorns. On Friday against Weber State, she pitched eight innings, struck out five and allowed two earned runs in Tulsa’s 5-3 extra-inning win.

Tossed a complete-game shutout against Syracuse at the Citrus Classic II, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out seven batters. Her seven strikeouts tied a career-best at UCF, while her seven-inning appearance is a career-best as a Knight.
Ashley Cruise • P • So. • East Carolina • Kingston, N.Y.
Went 2-0 with a perfect 0.00 earned run average in the circle, helping lead East Carolina to a 4-1 record at the Citrus Classic II. Cruise struck out 11 batters and walked just one in 10 innings of work.
Brittany Seale • C/DH • Jr. • Memphis • Tupelo, Miss.
Hit .545 in 11 at-bats over the weekend, playing two games at catcher and two at designated hitter as Memphis went 3-1 at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic this weekend. In a win over Jackson State, she was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a double.
Juli Weber • CF • Jr. • USF • Hegins, Pa.
Recorded four extra-base hits on the week, including a three-run blast for her first home run of the season. In the Bulls’ 10-2 run-rule victory over Wisconsin, Weber was 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs for her best performance at the plate this season. The junior also delivered the walk-off double to give USF a 6-5 win over Kansas in the opening game of the weekend.

Tallied six RBIs, five runs, three extra base hits, a .722 slugging percentage and a .444 on-base percentage in 18 at-bats over five games played. The sophomore went 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run in Tulsa’s 5-3 win over Weber State on Friday. In the Hurricane’s pair of 3-0 wins over No. 24/21 Texas, she went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run on Friday, and 2-for-4 with a run on Saturday.
