Memphis Advances To Championship Game, 74-54

ORLANDO, Fla
. -- Dedric Lawson had 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists and sixth-seeded Memphis beat 10th-seeded Tulane 74-54 in the American Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals on Saturday.

Shaq Goodwin added 16 points and the Tigers (19-14) will face No. 5 seed UConn in the championship game on Sunday.

Memphis scored 13 straight in the second half, capped by Trashon Burrell's pair of free throws, to make it 64-37 with 7:33 left -- the Tigers' largest lead of the game.

Burrell, Markel Crawford and Nick Marshall scored 10 each. Crawford also grabbed 10 rebounds for Memphis, which pulled away in the middle of the first half with a 13-2 run.

All smiles for @memphisathletics. The Tigers advance to the championship game and will face UConn.

Louis Dabney and Melvin Frazier scored eight each to lead Tulane (12-22). The Green Wave knocked off No. 7 seed Central Florida and No. 2 seed Houston on their path to the semifinals. Memphis beat third-seeded Tulsa on Friday.
