Butler and Vogasari Earn Weekly Tennis Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s men’s and women’s weekly tennis honors for the week ending March 13.

Butler produced a 4-0 combined record over the weekend in wins against Prairie View A&M and Northern Colorado. The sophomore earned two wins in second flight singles, claiming both matches in straight sets. Butler is currently on a six match win streak in singles play. The native of Marlborough, United Kingdom, also earned a 6-4 win in No. 1 doubles against the Panthers and added a 6-1 win in No. 2 doubles against the Bears.

Vogasari combined for a 5-1 record in first flight singles and doubles in three matches for the Cougars, including matchups with No. 7 Texas Tech and No. 24 Kansas. The product of Athens, Greece, earned singles wins against Ipek Birol of Tulane and Red Raiders’ Gabriela Talaba, who is ranked No. 100. Vogasari teamed with Rocio Martin to sweep their doubles matches, extending the duo’s winning streak to four matches.
