PROVIDENCE, R.I. – East Carolina senior Frida Gustafsson Spang was named the American Women's Golf Player of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday. Spang won the honor for the second time this season after taking home medalist honors at the 3M Augusta Invitational.
Spang captured her fifth career title with a 5-under 211 Saturday at Forest Hills Golf Club. The win tied her with former Pirate Adrienne Millican (2002-05) for the most wins in program history. Spang finished among tournament leaders (Top 5) in par-4 scoring (t2nd/3.90), par-5 scoring (t2nd/4.42) and total birdies (t1st/16), and shot a 67 in the third round to tie a season-low. She is ranked 15th nationally in the latest GolfStat rankings, the highest individual ranking in school history.

- The Pirates finished fifth overall at the 3M Augusta Invitational on Mar.11-12… Nicoline Engstroem Skaug posted a Top 20 finish for the Pirates.
- East Carolina is back in action on Mar. 21 at the Briar’s Creek Invitational.

- Leighann Cabush and Sydney Colwill posted Top 25 finishes during action at the 3M Augusta Invitational on Mar. 11-12…Colwill had five birdies in her final round…The Tigers finished 13th.
- Memphis next competes at the San Diego State Tournament on Mar. 21-23.
- USF
- Nicole Autrique tied for third (4-under 212) at the Clover Cup on Mar. 11-13…The junior posted her highest tournament finish as a Bull and helped USF collect its third consecutive Top 10 finish.
- USF is off for two weeks before returning to action at the Henssler Intercollegiate on Mar. 28-29.
- SMU
- Jenny Haglund led the Mustangs to the team championship title at the Clover Cup on Mar. 11-13 in Mesa, Arizona…The senior carded a season-low 68 in the third round and finished fifth overall.
- SMU next hosts the DAC/SMU Invitational on Apr. 1-2 in Dallas.
