POST-SEASON CENTRAL

HAMDEN, Conn. — Temple outlasted Quinnipiac on Sunday in the second round of the 2016 Postseason WNIT to earn a 64-62 win. The Owls will play Ohio University on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET in the third round of the tournament.   
 
In the final 25 seconds of the contest and with a one-point advantage, 60-59, junior guard Feyonda Fitzgerald and senior Erica Covile combined to knock down four free throws to seal the contest for the Owls.

Temple (22-11) received 23 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals from Fitzgerald. Tanaya Atkinson added 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Covile finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
 
Quinnipiac (25-9) was led by Paula Strautmane, who had 19 points and eight rebounds, while Aryn McClure added 17 points and seven rebounds.
