Highlights

-  Molly Smith recorded her second consecutive shutout while striking out nine UConn hitters in leading Memphis to a 7-0 American Athletic Conference-opening win.
 
- The Tigers were led by Lindsey Stickrod, who went 2-for-2 with three runs scored while Lindsay Crowdus went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI's.Regan Hadley was 1-for-2 with two RBI's on a two-run home run, while scoring twice.

- Kelli Bates went 3-for-4 at the plate for UConn, as she had half of the team's six hits in the contest.

- Chelsea Eckert fell to 4-10 on the season with the loss. Jill Stockley pitched 4.1 innings, striking out four batters.

- A 14-strikeout, nine-inning performance from senior Erica Nunn led RV/RV USF to a 3-1 win over East Carolina in the opening night of conference play.

- The Bulls have now tied the school record for consecutive wins in a season with 19, set by the 2012 Women’s College World Series team. 

- Astin Donovan hit just her second career home run, and first out of the park home run, in the top of the ninth to give USF the 3-1 lead. Cassidy Boyle, who reached on a two-out walk, also scored on Donovan’s home run.

- USF had played just one extra-inning game this season, defeating New Mexico State, 5-4 in eight innings. The Bulls are now 2-0 in extra-inning games this year.

-  Junior RHP Lydia Ritchie tossed the full nine innings for the Pirates in her ninth complete-game effort of the campaign. She surrendered three runs on seven hits with four walks and four strikeouts. 

- Senior shortstop Casey Alcorn and junior first baseman Ali Ramirez accounted for East Carolina’s two hits.

- In the bottom of the seventh, senior designated player Kelsi Briggs reached base on an error, and then advanced to second. Down to her last strike, Ramirez lifted a RBI single to left field and Briggs scored from second to tie the contest and send it to extra innings. 

- The Pirates limited the Bull offense to seven hits as USF entered the contest hitting .342 as a team. 

- Senior catcher Catherine Horner went 4-for-4 with three RBI to lead the Tulsa softball team to an 11-2 win at Houston Thursday in the American Athletic Conference opener for both teams at Cougar Softball Stadium.

- The Golden Hurricane scored five runs in the second inning, then kept the offense going, as it plated six runs over the final four innings.

- Junior third baseman Maggie Withee went 3-for-5 with three runs, while senior right fielder Kaitlin Allen, junior left fielder Maddie Withee and freshman second baseman Morgan Neal each scored two runs. Sophomore shortstop Shelby Estocado and freshman designated player Julia Hollingsworth each drove in two runs.

- Senior Caitlin Sill (12-1) struck out four Houston batters and allowed one earned run on nine hits

- Kaylin Crumpton led the Cougars as she went 2-for-3 at the plate. Freshman Elise LeBeouf followed with a 2-for-4 performance, knocking in one of the Cougars' two runs.

- Junior RHP Shelby Miller (4-1) was handed her first loss of the season. She threw one inning, allowed three earned runs and four walks.
