PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the week-ending March 27.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hunter Hope • Jr. • 3B • Tulane • Jupiter, Fla.
Hope hit .600 (9-for-15) and slugged 1.133 with two home runs, two doubles, six RBIs and seven runs scored in the Green Wave's 4-0 week. He was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run in a 12-7 midweek win at Southern Miss and was a combined 7-for-8 in the final two games of Tulane's three-game sweep of Illinois State. Hope is batting .337 with seven home runs and 18 RBIs this season and has helped the Green Wave to five consecutive wins.

Phoenix Sanders • Jr. • RHP • USF • Gainesville, Fla.
Sanders helped USF to a series win against Dartmouth with a dominant performance in Game 1 against the Big Green. He scattered five hits —all singles — and struck out seven with one walk in a complete-game shutout, leading the Bulls to a 4-0 win. Sanders allowed only one runner to reach second base as he induced three double plays and threw 92 pitches in the win. Sanders improved to 2-1 with a 1.85 ERA in six starts this season.

Hit .429 (9-for-21) with a double, a triple, a home run and nine RBIs in a 3-2 week. Went 4-for-5 with seven RBIs in a 16-0 win against Cornell to complete a series sweep.

Extended his hitting streak to 19 games by going 8-for-12 (667) with a double, two home runs, three RBIs and six runs scored in a 3-1 week.

Struck out 11 and allowed three hits in 6.0 shutout innings in a 3-0 win against Columbia.
Eric Tyler • Jr. • 3B/OF • East Carolina • Landon, N.C.
Went 2-for-4 with two home runs and an American Athletic Conference-record eight RBIs in a 13-0 win against Jacksonville. Scored four runs and had 10 RBIs in the Pirates' 3-1 week.

Hit .545 (6-for-11) with a double, eight walks, two RBIs and six runs scored in a 3-1 week. Had at least one hit and scored at least one run in all four games.
