PROVIDENCE, R.I. – UConn seniors Breanna Stewart, Moriah Jefferson and Morgan Tuck were selected with the first three picks in the 2016 WNBA Draft on Thursday at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. USF senior Courtney Williams accompanied the Husky trio as she was selected with the No. 8 overall pick in the draft.

Thursday marked the first time in WNBA history the top three selections came from the same school. Stewart, Jefferson and Tuck were the 17th, 18th, and 19th Huskies to be selected in the first round of the draft. The seniors became the first women’s program to win four consecutive national titles and finished their collegiate careers with a 151-5 record.
Stewart, the three-time Naismith Trophy and two-time Wooden Award recipient, was selected by the Seattle Storm with the top overall pick. The North Syracuse, New York, native became the fifth UConn player to be chosen with the No. 1 pick. Stewart was the only player to be named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player four times and the first player to record 300 career blocks and 300 career assists. She finished her career as UConn's all-time leader with 414 career blocked shots and is second on the Huskies' all-time scoring list with 2,676 points.
