Tulane's Alemais, Cincinnati's Zellner Take Weekly Baseball Honors



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the week-ending April 24.

Alemais led Tulane to a 4-0 week, which included a 12-0 midweek win against No. 19 Southern Miss and a series sweep on the road against UCF. He hit safely in all four games and had multiple hits in three of the four on his way to a .444 batting average (8-for-18) with two doubles, four runs scored, three RBIs and two stolen bases. Alemais also played error-free ball at shortstop in the four games, helping the Green Wave to their ninth and 10th shutout wins of the season.

Zellner turned in his second complete-game shutout of the season, and his third complete game of the year, to help Cincinnati to a series win against Memphis, keeping the Bearcats in first place in the American Athletic Conference standings. He was the winning pitcher in Game 1 against the Tigers as he scattered seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts and 13 ground-ball outs in a 1-0 victory. Zellner needed 97 pitches to go the distance and improve his record to 5-2 on the year.

Picked up a win and a save in a series win against UConn. Worked 5.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts and one walk in three appearances.

Worked 8.0 innings, allowing one unearned run with nine strikeouts and no walks in a 5-1 win against USF.
 
Josh Vidales • Sr. • 2B • Houston • La Porte, Texas
Hit .500 (5-for-10) with three doubles, a triple and three runs scored in a series win against USF.
 
Alex Massey • Sr. • RHP • Tulane • Baton Rouge, La.
Scattered three hits and struck out six in 7.0 shutout  innings to get the decision in a 6-0 win at UCF.
