Tulsa’s Nadia Majidizadeh Tabbed American Women’s Golf Player of the Week



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Tulsa junior Nadia Majidizadeh was named the American Women's Golf Player of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
 
Majidizadeh tied her career-best performance at the Rebel Intercollegiate on Apr. 1-3 after finishing sixth with a 3-over 219 (71-72-73). The senior recorded her third consecutive Top 20 finish during action at the 6,323-yard Ole Miss Golf Course. Majidizadeh tied for sixth in the 89-player field and led the Hurricane to a 9th place finish out of 15 teams.

    • Junior Ayaka Nakayama earned her best individual finish of the season Apr. 3 at the Bryan National Collegiate…Nakayama tied for eighth with a 224 and led the Knights to a 12th place finish.
    • UCF next competes at the American Athletic Conference Championship Apr. 17-19 in Palm Coast, Florida.
       
  • Cincinnati
    • Using a five-stroke improvement from the second to third rounds, Tara Liebert led the Bearcats with a four-over 220 at the Web.com Intercollegiate…The Bearcats tied College of Charleston and placed eighth overall.
    • Cincinnati will have individual competitors at the Valparaiso University Crusader/Jaguar Challenge on Apr. 9-10.
       
  • East Carolina
    • Frida Gustafsson Spang (223) and Nicoline Engstroem Skaug (224) each recorded Top 10 finishes at the Bryan National Collegiate on Apr. 3…The Pirates finished seventh in the 15-team field.
    • East Carolina returns to action Apr. 9 when it competes at the River Landing Classic.
 
  • Houston
    • The Cougars finished sixth at the Clemson Invitational Apr. 1-3 at The Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, South Carolina…Yuka Kajiki made a team-high six birdies in the final round and finished 11th overall (217).
    • Houston’s next event is the American Athletic Conference Championship Apr. 17-19 in Palm Coast, Florida.
       
  • Memphis
    • Sophomore Emily Goldenstein (221: 77-74-70) posted her seventh career Top 10 finish during action at the Rebel Intercollegiate Apr. 1-3 in Oxford, Mississippi…Goldenstein carded five birdies in the final round to move into the Top 10.
    • With the regular season complete, the Tigers will now prepare for the American Athletic Conference Championship on Apr. 17-19.
 
  • USF
    • USF extended its Top 10 streak to five events with a 10th place finish (903) at the Web.com Intercollegiate on Tuesday…Michelle Reyes paced the Bulls and made a team-high nine birdies.
    • USF returns to the links Apr. 17-19 at the American Athletic Conference Championship.
 
  • SMU
    • The Mustangs tied for fourth in the 16-team field at the SMU/DAC Invitational on Apr. 1-2, climbing three spots in the final round…Senior Alexandria Rossi led SMU with a three-round score of 222 (73-76-73).
    • The Mustangs are back in action Apr. 8-9 at the Texas Tech Invitational.
 
  • Tulane
    • Senior Emily Penttila posted a sixth-place finish with a 3-over 219 at the SMU/DAC Invitational in Dallas…Penttila carded her 16th round of par or better with her opening round 71 on Friday…The Green Wave finished 12th overall as a team.
    • Tulane wrapped up regular season action and will next compete at the American Athletic Conference Championship Apr. 17-19 in Palm Coast, Fla.
