Highlights
- An eight-run first inning and pitching performance from senior Erica Nunn led No. 25/23 USF to a 9-1 win over UConn Friday night.
- With the exception of Juli Weber, every batter in the starting lineup recorded a run. Sam Worrell and Nunn led the way with two hits apiece, while six different Bulls recorded an RBI and nine accounted for the Bulls’ 11 hits.
- Nunn picked up her 18th win of the season, throwing her second complete game of the week. She gave up just one earned run on five hits, striking out six and walking one.
- In the first inning UConn's Alyssa Gardea singled to the shortstop for her 26th hit of the season to bring Lexi Gifford in and give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
- Alyson Ambler led the Huskies with two hits on the day,
- Junior Kayla Doty (4-4) was tagged with the loss after only 0.2 innings in the circle, allowing five hits and six runs before being replaced by sophomore Chelsea Eckert. Eckert pitched 3.1 innings of relief on six hits, three runs (one earned) and five strikeouts.
- RV/NR UCF beat RV/RV Tulsa, 4-1, in the first game of their series on Friday evening at the UCF Softball Complex.
- UCF freshman Cassady Brewer and junior Linnea Goodman each collected a pair of hits, while junior Willow Kalinen drove in a pair of runs.
- Shelby Turnier tossed her 14th complete game of the season, fanning seven batters while allowing just four hits. She collected her 12th win of the season and is now tied with former UCF ace Allison Kime with 71 career wins. Turnier is seven wins away from Mackenzie Audas’ UCF Softball record of 78 wins.
- Tulsa's junior third baseman Maggie Withee went 2-for-4, and senior catcher Catherine Horner and freshman designated player Julia Hollingsworth each had one hit, as Tulsa totaled four hits in the game. Senior right fielder Kaitlin Allen drove home junior left fielder Maddie Withee for the only TU run.
- Starting pitcher Emily Watson (9-7) struck out five and allowed three earned runs in 5.1 innings.
- Memphis plated a run at the top of the seventh inning to record a 1-0 win over East Carolina on Friday at the ECU Softball Stadium.
- Lindsey Stickrod had the Tigers' lone hit of the game. Pinch runner Breana Valenzuela scored the game-winning run on Brooke Lee's RBI.
- Memphis pitcher Molly Smith scattered two hits and walked three, as she improved to 7-8 on the season. Her shutout total has her seventh in school history over a career in the category, while lowering her ERA to 2.40 for the season.
- Senior shortstop Casey Alcorn and junior catcher Alex Mycek recorded the two East Carolina hits.
- ECU junior RHP Lydia Ritchie tossed a perfect 3.2 innings with seven strikeouts before freshman RHP Mary Williams threw the final 3.1 and walked four batters while striking out two. Williams was tagged with the loss as she dropped to 3-10 overall.
- After leading 2-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth, Houston dropped a 4-3 decision to No. 18/17 Arizona in the series opener Friday evening.
- With two outs and bases loaded in the top of the third, freshman Elise LeBeouf hit a base hit up the middle to plate two runs.
- The Cougars rallied in the top of the seventh when Kaylin Crumpton knocked in a run on a ground out to the pitcher. But the rally was cut short as the Cougars fell 4-3.
- Savannah Heebner pitched 4.2 innings, tallying two strikeouts and giving up four runs on five hits. Shelby Miller pitched 1.1 innings, and gave up three hits and no runs.
