Highlights
- RV/RV UCF came up short against No. 1/1 Florida, 5-0, at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium on Saturday afternoon. In the evening, senior Jessica Ujvari delivered the walk-off home run to give the Knights a 2-1 win over Florida Atlantic in eight innings. UCF advances to the regional final for the third straight season.
- Ujvari broke up Florida pitcher Delanie Gourley’s no-hit bid in the fourth inning, as she singled over second base. A wild pitch allowed freshman pinch runner Tiffany Lower to move to second, and senior Samantha McCloskey worked a full count before drawing a walk to put a pair of runners on base. The Knights were unable to push any runs across in the inning.
- In the Knights' second game of the day, Ujvari was joined by fellow seniors Samantha McCloskey and Kalyn Cenal, along with sophomore Courtney Rotton and freshman Tiffany Lower as the five Knights to record a hit in the contest. The Knights took the Owls to extra innings for the second time this season, and with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, Jessica Ujvari gave the Knights the walk-off victory with her ninth home run of the season.
- Against Florida, Shelby Turnier tossed 6.1 innings, fanning four batters. She allowed just two hits through the first four innings. The Knights kept the Gators off the board in four innings, stranding 12 UF runners.
- Against the Owls, Jamie Ujvari tossed a season-high eight innings, fanning six batters in the complete-game effort. She allowed just four hits and an unearned run.
- No. 24/24 USF held off a late rally by Florida A&M to secure a 6-4 win and stay alive in the Tallahassee Regional. The Bulls advanced to their second elimination game of the day, facing South Carolina for the second time. The Gamecocks defeated the Bulls, 6-0, to end USF's season.
- Astin Donovan, Lauren Evans and Lee Ann Spivey each had a pair of hits against the Rattlers, accounting for six of the Bulls' eight hits. Donovan's home run set the USF team record for home runs in a season with 49 this year. The 2005 team held the record previously with 48.
- Kristen Wyckoff led the Bulls offensively against the Gamecocks, going 2-for-2 at the plate. Pinch hitter Morgan Litchfield had a double and Cassidy Boyle also had a hit, as the Bulls totaled four hits.
- Against FAMU, Cheyenne Eggens earned her first win since March 9 against Utah, throwing four innings of three-hit ball and allowing just one run. Erica Nunn picked up her sixth save of the season, throwing 2.2 innings and allowing two unearned runs.
- Nunn took the loss against South Carolina, finishing her senior year with a 27-12 record, 223 strikeouts and a career-best 1.71 ERA. She threw 11 complete games, five shutouts and held opponents to a .206 average in her senior season.
- RV/NR Tulsa's softball season, which included a conference championship and its eighth NCAA postseason appearance, came to an end Saturday evening, with a 2-1 defeat to Wichita State in the NCAA Norman Regional at Marita Hynes Field.
- The Golden Hurricane concludes the season with a 35-21 record after winning the American Athletic Conference Championship and making its eighth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 11 years.
- Wichita State (36-20) scored two runs in the third inning, before the Hurricane cut it to 2-1 in the sixth. TU loaded the bases before senior Catherine Horner drew a walk, but TU was only able to plate the lone run. Maddie Withee led the Hurricane going 2-for-3 at the plate, and accounting for two of the team's four hits. Julia Hollingsworth and Maggie Withee each had a hit for Tulsa.
- Sophomore Lexi Blevins made her second career start, and went the distance. Blevins, who had pitched 5.2 shutout innings against the Shockers on April 27, allowed eight hits, only three of which left the infield. She also pitched her second complete game on Saturday.
