Included among the game times announced Wednesday is the kickoff time for the second American Athletic Conference Football Championship, which will be played Dec. 3 at noon ET at the site of one of the two division winners. The American Championship will be televised on ABC or ESPN.

Wednesday’s announcement includes the kickoff times for The American’s Thursday and Friday prime time games on ESPN networks. The prime time package begins Thursday, Sept. 15, on ESPN with what figures to be a key conference matchup between Cincinnati and Houston.

The American also announced five games that will be televised on CBS Sports Network – San Jose State at Tulsa (Sept. 3, 7 p.m.), Northern Illinois at USF (Sept. 10, 7 p.m.), Maryland at UCF (Sept. 17, 7 p.m.), Cincinnati at UConn (Oct. 8, 11:30 a.m.), and Memphis at Cincinnati (Nov. 18, 8 p.m.).

The remaining start times and television designations for the 2016 season will be made as part of the conference’s 12-day selection process.

The American enjoyed a banner year in 2015 as three teams finished in the final College Football Playoff top 25 rankings, eight teams played in bowl games, and Houston defeated Florida State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
