American Athletic Conference Announces Staff Promotions



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Commissioner Mike Aresco has announced the promotion of four members of the American Athletic Conference staff.
 
Michael Costa has been promoted to the position of Senior Director of Football Administration, while Catherine Carmignani has been promoted to Director of Branding and Sport Administration. Jamie Corun is promoted to Assistant Director of Digital Communications, and Hali Oughton has been promoted to Assistant Director of Digital Media & Reporter.
 
“I am pleased to recognize these four individuals for their extraordinary service to our membership,” said Aresco. “Michael Costa has been a valuable contributor to the overall quality of our football operations and will be a key part of our continued growth and success. Catherine Carmignani has significantly enhanced our overall branding efforts, and has been instrumental in the operation of our men’s basketball championship. Jamie Corun is a talented and creative professional who has helped us to become a leader in the social and digital media space. Hali Oughton continues to produce high-quality work to tell our student-athletes’ stories on behalf of The American Digital Network.”
 
Costa has been a member of the conference staff since 2010 and had served as Director of Football Administration since 2013. In addition to his oversight of game operations policies and procedures, he acts as a liaison between the conference and its bowl partners. Costa assumed additional responsibilities in 2015 as the game manager for the American Athletic Conference Football Championship and is involved in all operations for the Miami Beach Bowl, which is owned by The American.
 
Carmignani joined the conference staff in 2012 and had been Assistant Director of Branding and Sport Administration since 2015. She will manage the conference’s external branding efforts, including licensing, as well on-site implementation of visual identity standards at championship events and internal and external functions. She will continue to have direct administrative responsibilities with women’s golf while assisting with men’s basketball, women’s soccer, swimming and diving, and outdoor track and field.
 
Corun joined the staff at The American in 2012 and has been Digital Communications Coordinator since 2013. She manages the production and content for the conference’s official website as well as The American’s social media platforms. She will continue to oversee those platforms and will take on additional duties related to the strategic growth of the conference’s digital media efforts.
 
Oughton came to The American in 2014 as the Digital Network Assistant and was named Multimedia Coordinator and Reporter in 2015. She is responsible for all video content for The American Digital Network and serves as the primary writer, editor and producer for the conference’s video platforms. She additionally is the on-camera host of “The Rise,” a weekly look at news and features from The American’s 12 member schools.
