UConn women's soccer standouts Rachel Hill and Stephanie Ribeiro were named to the Missouri Athletic Club's (MAC) Hermann Trophy watch list as announced by the organization Wednesday.
Hill had an outstanding season in 2015 as she was named The American's Co-Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight year. Starting in all 23 matches, she led the league in points with 36 as she scored 16 goals and had four assists. She also led the league in goals (16), goals per game (0.70), and game-winning goals (6). Hill was named a MAC Hermann Semifinalist in 2015.
Ribeiro was named The American's Midfielder of the Year in 2015. She led the league in shots (96), shots per game (4.17) and game-winning goals (6) and finished tied for second in assists with eight. She finished second on her team, behind Hill, in points with 22. Ribeiro also scored a season high five points, two goals and one assist, in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
Both seniors were named NSCAA All-Americans in 2015 and claim two of the 36 spots on this years female watch list.
The MAC Hermann Trophy is known as the most prestigious award in collegiate soccer as it is awarded to the top male and female athlete each year. The winners will be announced during a trophy presentation Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 6, 2017.
