Olympic Coverage
Twenty-seven current or former student-athletes from American Athletic Conference schools are competing in the Rio 2016 Olympics. The Olympic Games kicked off August 5, and will run until August 21.
Women's Basketball
Led by Diana Taurasi with 13 points, it was another win for Team USA on Monday. A 40-point win over Spain, 103-63, gave USA a 2-0 record in group B. Next up for the Americans is Serbia who is coming off a tough loss to Canada.

A huge performance by UConn's Kia Nurse lifted Canada over Serbia, 71-67. After trailing by 18 points, a huge fourth quarter in which Canada outscored Serbia 26-10, changed the tide of the game. Nurse finished the night with 25 points to lead all scorers. The win moves Canada to 2-0 to stay atop of group B tied with team USA. Canada will face Senegal on Wednesday.

Field Hockey
An upset victory for the United States who edged Australia for a 2-1 victory on Monday. The win moves Team USA to first place in Pool B standings.
Swimming
It was a big night in the pool as Rachel Nicol swam to a 5th place finish in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:06.68 after being seeded 8th to start the night.
SMU's Jonathan Gomez swam in the semifinals of the 200m fly where he finished 15th.
Diving
Coached by Jane Figueiredo, the Great Britain duo of Tom Daley and Daniel Goodfellow took home the bronze medal in the Men's Synchronized Platform Final.
