PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the second week of the 2016 college football season.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Quinton Flowers • Jr. • QB • USF • Miami, Fla.
Flowers keyed USF’s 48-17 win against Northern Illinois as he completed 21 of 33 passes for a career-high 350 yards and four touchdowns and added 53 rushing yards on 11 carries. Flowers had 403 yards of total offense, engineering the Bulls’ 658-yard performance that ranks second in school history.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alohi Gilman • Fr. • LB/DB • Navy • Laie, Hawaii
Gilman registered a team-high 10 tackles to go with a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in Navy’s 28-24 win against UConn in the American Athletic Conference opener. Gilman made a key defensive play with a fumble return for a touchdown after he stripped the ball, giving the Midshipmen a 21-0 lead.

Sherman Badie • Jr. • RB • Tulane • Metarie, La.
Badie had 175 all-purpose yards, including 135 on kickoff returns, to help Tulane to a 66-21 win against Southern. Badie had an 86-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and averaged 33.8 yards on four kickoff returns to go with 40 rushing yards as the Green Wave topped the 60-point mark for the first time since 1998.

Will Worth • Sr. • QB • Navy • Valrico, Fla.
Was 6-of-8 for 130 yards and rushed for 44 yards and two TDs in a 28-24 win against UConn in his first career start.
Auggie Sanchez • Jr. • LB • USF • St. Petersburg, Fla.
Had a game-high 13 tackles with one sack in a 48-17 win against Northern Illinois.
