Deyshawn Bond plays an important role on a Cincinnati offensive line that ranked fifth nationally in total offense and fourth in both passing and rushing in 2015. Bond was a Second Team All-American Athletic Conference selection in 2015 and has been named to the Rimington Trophy Preseason Watch List, which recognizes the nation’s top centers, for the past three seasons.
Experience has been key for Bond who has been the Bearcats’ starting center for the past three years and continues in that role this season. With that experience has come a role of leadership for the senior. “I have to be the guy that everyone comes to and looks at and tries to get the best example from. So I have to be always on point and doing what I’m doing and make sure I’m ready for anything that comes my way,” says Bond
.
Despite losing some key weapons at wide receiver this season, Bond looks to his veteran o-line to lead the way for the Bearcat offense. “We go by our motto, ‘Big Men Lead the Way.’ We always try to be the guys that are the train of the team.” states Bond.
