Highlights
SMU, led by Katie Hegarty’s 16 kills Morgan Heise’s 23 digs, handed East Carolina its first loss of the season. Lauren Mills added 15 kills for the Mustangs and Hegarty finished with four of the six aces SMU had on the night.
In the loss to SMU, Sydney Darden had a double-double (15 kills, 12 digs) and Brandee Markwith finished with a match-high 26 digs for the Pirates.
Cincinnati earned a hard-fought five-set win over Tulsa as Jordan Thompson (27 kills, 13 digs), Jade Tingelhoff (51 assists, career-high 19 digs) and Carly Nolan (11 kills, 11 digs) all finished with double-doubles. Ciara Hill added 18 kills for the Bearcats.
Erica Bohannon led Tulsa with 22 kills, Rebecca Reeve (10 kills, 13 digs) posted a double-double and Brooke Berryhill led the Hurricane with 20 digs in the loss to Cincinnati.
