PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Additional coverage of the 2016-17 American Athletic Conference women’s basketball season was announced on Tuesday. The league unveiled times and network designations for games on ESPN3 and The American Digital Network.
The conference announced a number of league games to be carried on ESPN3, beginning with the Jan. 4 matchup between USF and Tulane. UConn’s games on SNY will be available outer market on the network as well, including the Huskies’ non-conference matchups against Baylor (Nov. 17) and DePaul (Dec. 1).
The 2017 American Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Championship will take place March 3-6 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. Similar to last year, ESPN networks will provide live coverage of every game of the tournament. ESPN3 will carry seven championship games, including three first round matchups on Friday, March 3 and four quarterfinal games on Saturday, March 4. The conference semifinals on Sunday, March 5 will air on ESPN2 and ESPNU while the championship on Monday, March 6 will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
Twenty-one conference women’s basketball games will be produced and distributed live by The American Digital Network (ADN) and will air on
www.TheAmerican.org/dn free of charge.
The American Digital Network begins coverage on the opening day of conference play, Dec. 31, with SMU hosting Cincinnati at 3 p.m. ET. Throughout the conference schedule, The American Digital Network will make stops at 10 campuses, closing out the regular season on Feb. 27 in Dallas as SMU hosts Houston at 8 p.m. ET.
A weekly halftime show with highlights, features and interviews with coaches and players from around the league will be produced and aired from the conference studio in Providence, R.I. Games on the ADN will be available on all mobile, tablet and desktop devices as well as on the conference’s official Roku app.
All games aired on an ESPN network will also be available through WatchESPN, accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider. Each of the CBS Sports games will be available to stream live in more than 150 U.S. markets via the CBS All Access subscription service, with additional coverage on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports app.
The league previously announced a number of televised games with ESPN and CBS Sports Network on Sept. 9. Over 60 of the league’s 88 games are scheduled for live coverage in 2016-17.
