PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer honors for the week ending Sept. 26..
Offensive Player of the Week
Stephanie Ribeiro * RS-Sr. * F * UConn
Ribeiro scored five points in the Huskies 4-1 victory over Fordham. She had a foot in all scores for the Huskies as she had three assists and scored her sixth game-winning goal in the match and currently leads the NCAA in that category.
Defensive Player of the Week
Taylor Barg * Sr. * D * SMU
Barg played all 108 minutes in the Mustangs overtime loss to
RV/NR TCU. She anchored the defense in her 67
th career start which is ninth all time at SMU. Barg also recorded one shot on goal.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Kat Elliott * Jr. * USF
Elliott recorded seven saves and allowed one goal off a penalty kick in the Bulls 3-1 victory over Old Dominion. She faced 22 shots with eight on goal to keep
17/19USF perfect this season.
Rookie of the Week
Evelyne Viens* Fr. * F * USF
Viens recorded five points and took part in all scoring plays for
17/19 USF in their 3-1 victory over Old Dominion. She assisted on Andrea Hauksdottir's game-winning goal and scored two goals of her own. She now leads the team with 21 points and nine goals this season.
