PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings have nine teams from the American Athletic Conference represented including three teams rising in the rankings.
The SMU women now have the highest ranking of all American teams in the polls earning a No. 2 ranking in the South Central Region, rising from No. 5 after a very strong showing in its last meet. Tulane’s women rose from No. 12 to No. 8 in the South Central Region and Memphis was the other team to rise in the rankings, gaining one spot from No. 12 to No. 11 in the South Region after winning the Austin Peay Invitational.
Three more teams on the women’s side earned rankings with Tulsa maintaining its No. 5 ranking in the Midwest Region. Houston fell five spots to No. 13 in the South Central Region and Temple holds on to the No. 15 ranking in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
On the men’s side, Tulsa stays at No. 3 in the Midwest Region after winning the Cowboy Jamboree. UConn at No. 14 in the Northeast Region and Temple at No. 15 in the Mid-Atlantic Region round out the men’s rankings.
