PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s cross country honors for the week ending Sept. 25.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Julian Sanchez-Pinto • Jr. • Memphis
Sanchez-Pinto won the Austin Peay Invitational with a time of 21:06 in the 4-mile race. The win is the first individual title for Sanchez-Pinto, who is racing in his first season at Memphis after transferring from Colby Community College. The junior won the first individual title for the Tiger’s men’s team since 2013.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FEMALE RUNNER OF THE WEEK

Blaney posted a time of 16:54.18 on way to winning the Mountain Dew Invitational 5K women’s race. Blaney finished more than 17 seconds ahead of the second place finisher to take home her second individual title of the season. The senior’s time was the second fastest 5K time in school history.
