Senior guard Troy Caupain’s strong play has No. 22/22 Cincinnati on a six-game winning streak and sitting in the AP and USA TODAY Coaches Top-25.
Caupain has logged more minutes than any other player on Mick Cronin’s squad this season (30.9 mpg) and the product of Richmond, Virginia, has made the most of his time on the court. He ranks in the nation’s top-10 for assist-to-turnover ratio (10th, 3.63) and amongst The American leaders in assists and steals. In Cincinnati’s most recent outing, he paved the way with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists against a tough Houston team. The senior's experience and leadership will continue to be relied upon as the Bearcats enter the heart of conference play.
Cincinnati (13-2, 3-0 American) welcomes SMU (14-3, 4-0 American) to Fifth Third Arena tonight in a battle of the top two teams in the American Athletic Conference. The tip is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
