PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly indoor track and field honors of the 2016-17 season, for the week ending Jan. 22.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Eli Hall • Jr. • Houston • Katy, Texas
Hall has been named Male Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 200m and finishing second in the 60m at the Mark Colligan Memorial over the weekend. Hall, in his first meet with the Cougars ran the 200m in 20.71, which is the second fastest time in the NCAA this season. The junior finished .008 seconds behind teammate Amere Lattin in the 60m dash.

Anne-Marie Blaney • Sr. • UCF • Ocala, Fla.
Blaney takes home Female Track Athlete of the Week honors after winning the 3000m at the Rod McCravy Memorial. The senior won the event with a time of 9:18.87, which set a school record. Blaney currently leads The American in the 3000m by 22 seconds and is seventh in the NCAA in the event.

Adrian Valles • Jr. • Cincinnati • Pamplona, Spain
Valles has been named Male Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week with his performance in the pole vault in the Gladstein Invitational. Valles cleared 5.52m, which broke his own school record and is second in the nation with that clearance and is tops in The American.

Annette Echikunwoke • Jr. • Cincinnati • Pickerington, Ohio
Echikunwoke earned her second Female Field Athlete of the Week award for this season after her first place finish in the weight throw at the Gladstein Invitational. The junior threw a mark of 22.53m which is tied for tops in the NCAA and leads The American in the weight throw by more than two meters.
