Highlights
- Cincinnati earned five event wins at the Thundering Herd Invitational at Marshall University. On day one, Annette Echikunwoke won the weight throw with a meet record 22.10m, Naomi Urbano won the pentathlon with a meet record 3,626 points and Brooke Catherine won the pole vault with a clearance of 3.80m. On day two the Bearcats won two more events, both of them meet records. Jimmy Brooks won the 400m with a time of 47.78 and Macklin Tudor won the shot put with a mark of 17.98.
- UCF competed in the Bob Pollock Invite at Clemson and brought home four first-place finishes over the two day meet. Anne-Marie Blaney won two events, taking home gold in the mile run (4:45.06) and the 3,000m (9:22.30). Chelsea Gobourne won the weight throw with a mark of 19.82m and Rosie Chamberlain finished first in the 800m (2:06.7).
- UConn was at the Columbia East-West Challenge where the men’s team finished fourth overall. Stephon Henry finished second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.05 and Craig Hunter finished second in the pole vault with a clearance of 5.15. In the women’s competition, Taylor Woods took home a second-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.92.
- Houston hosted the Houston Invite and took home five first-place finishes. Samiyah Samuels won the women’s long jump with a distance of 6.08m, Tonyecia Burks won the triple jump with a mark of 12.58m and the Cougars also won the women’s 4x400m with a time of 3:47.88. On the men’s side, Alejandro Garza won the shot put with a mark of 17.58m and Nathaniel Mechler won the heptathlon with 5376 points.
- Memphis competed in the Arkansas State Invitational and took home four first-place finishes. Davon DeMoss won the 55m (6.30), Brock Ballard finished first in the 800m (1:55.55), LaForrest Church finished first in the mile (4:18.69) and Jordan Wesner was tops in the high jump (2.13m).
- SMU won three events at the J.D. Martin Invitational at the University of Oklahoma over the weekend. Hannah Miller won the mile run in 4:56.22, Marlene Gomez-Islinger won the 3,000m (9:59.67) and Holly Archer won the 800m with a time of 2:14.78.
- Temple was in State College, Pa., at the Penn State National and took home three top-five finishes. In the 3,000m open race, Katie Leisher finished first (9:49.02) and Grace Moore finished third (9:52.21). Katie Pinson finished fifth in the open mile run with a time of 5:00.35.
- Tulane had three third-place finishes at the Indiana Relays in Bloomington, Ind. Jessica Adamson’s tome of 2:12.14 was good for third in the 800m, Milayla Sonneborn finished third in the mile with a time of 5:05.03, and Alyssa Applebee finished third in the pole vault clearing 4.02m.
- Tulsa brought home six first-place finishes at the Iowa Black and Gold Premier. Marc Scott won the men’s mile run premier in a time of 4:05.36 and the Golden Hurricane took home a win in the distance medley (9:56.46). The Tulsa women won the distance medley relay in a time of 11:55.45, Nicole Lee won the 3,000m (10:07.23) and Adrena Mazzei won the mile run in 4:58.85.
