Tulane's Morgan, Tulsa's Dickson Earn Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball honors for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 29.

Kolby Morgan • Jr. • G • Tulane
Morgan averaged 27.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for Tulane. The guard opened the week with 20 points and eight rebounds in a win over Tulsa last Wednesday. She scored a career-high 35 points in an overtime win at Cincinnati on Saturday while grabbing a career-best 12 rebounds. Morgan shot 56-percent (14-of-25) from the field in the comeback win over the Bearcats and scored all of Tulane’s points (12) in the first quarter. She also scored 10 of the team’s 13 points in the fourth quarter, and had a pivotal steal with 11 seconds remaining in regulation that led to the game-tying lay-up as the Green Wave trailed by two.

Dickson repeats as American Freshman of the Week after tallying 15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the Hurricane last week. The rookie had 11 points and six rebounds in a five-point loss to Tulane last Wednesday. She finished the week with 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists in a 66-59 win over SMU on Saturday. Dickson has scored 20 or more points in four of the last five contests.
