Highlights
- The UConn women began their 2017 season at the Wagner Invite and came away with three first place finishes. Sophomore Kat Surin won the 60m dash with a time of 7.62, the 200m in a time of 25.17 and took home her third first-place finish as a member of the 4x400m relay. Senior Sydney Over, sophomore Hannah Parker and freshman Kristina Cherrington were also on the 4x400 team. Elise Anderson took home two thrid-place finishes in the 60m (7.73) and 200m (25.31). Over (57.22) and Cherrington (58.13) finished second and third respectively in the 400m. The Huskies also finished second and third in the 5000m with runs from Ericka Randazzo (10:01.80) and Courtney Ackerley (10:01.86). UConn's only top three finish in field events came from a third place finish by Kelli Thomas with a mark of 16.80m in the weight throw.
- Tulane kicked off its 2017 season at the LSU Purple Tiger with a win in the pole vault by Mary Carson Pitts, with a mark of 3.89m. Rebekah Markel took third in the pole vault clearing 3.59. Jessica Duckett (58.74) and Maya Harewood (58.93) finished second and third in the 400m. Mikayla Sonneborn took home third in the mile run with a time of 5:14.22 and Taylor Potts finished second in the shot put with a mark of 14.84m.
