LINEUP UNVEILED FOR AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE BASKETBALL MEDIA DAY



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference will host its annual basketball media day on Monday, Oct. 16, at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott.
 
The day will serve as the unofficial open to men’s and women’s basketball season, and the American Digital Network will have live coverage beginning at 7:45 a.m. ET.
 
Fans and media members are invited to follow the latest American Athletic Conference basketball news through social media using #AmericanTipOff. Both shows will be available on Facebook (Facebook.com/AmericanConf) and YouTube (YouTube.com/AmericanAthleticConf), with highlights shared via The American’s twitter accounts, @American_MBB and @American_WBB. Additionally, full media day coverage can be found at TheAmerican.org/AmericanTipOff.
 
The preseason poll, along with preseason player of the year, preseason rookie of the year and first and second-team all-conference honors will also be announced that day ahead of both the men’s and women’s sessions.
 
Media members will have the opportunity to interview student-athletes throughout the day. Those who have not yet RSVP’d are encouraged to contact Bill Potter (bpotter@theamerican.org) on the men’s side and Chevonne Mansfield (cmansfield@theamerican.org) on the women’s.

The American Athletic Conference (The American), a member of the NCAA, was reconstituted in 2013. With the conference office in Providence, Rhode Island, The American is comprised of the following institutions: UCF, Cincinnati, UConn, East Carolina, Houston, Memphis, Navy (in football only), USF, SMU, Temple, Tulane and Tulsa.
