PROVIDENCE, R.I. - USF senior Cristian DiMarco was named the American Men's Golf Player of the Month for September, the league announced on Monday.
DiMarco captured his first collegiate title by sinking a 12-14 birdie putt on the final hole at the Jim Rivers intercollegiate Sept. 18-19 at the Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, Louisiana. The senior trailed by six shots heading into the final round and finished the three-day event 8-under 208 (70-69-69). DiMarco was under par in all three rounds and helped USF win the tournament by 13 strokes (21-under 843) over second place Stephen F. Austin.
