Week Six Men's Soccer Honors Announced



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer honors for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 1.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Alan Camacho Soto * Fr. * F * Temple

Camacho Soto led the Temple offense with six points last week, including both goals in a 2-1 (2OT) win at Memphis. He opened the week by scoring the first goal in a 3-0 win over Penn State last Wednesday. During Saturday’s match at Memphis, ?Camacho Soto scored the opening goal in the 62nd minute and added the golden goal in double overtime in the 101st minute. The three goals last week were also his first career goals.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Jared Rice * Sr. * B * SMU
Rice assisted on the game-winning goal in SMU’s 2-1 win over UCF last Friday. The senior found DJ Williams, Jr. in the 74th minute, who headed the ball in to help seal the win for the Mustangs. Rice and the SMU backline gave up just one goal in the match as the Mustangs earned three points in conference play for the win.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Scott Levene * R-Sr. * UConn

Levene earns American Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after making nine saves and earning a pair of shutout victories last week against Providence and Tulsa. Levene has five shutouts this season and has not allowed a goal in the last three matches. 
 
Rookie of the Week
