Cincinnati, ECU, SMU and Tulane Participate in Meets Friday



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Four women’s and two men’s swimming and diving teams will be in action Friday, Oct. 6.
 
Women’s Swimming and Diving
Cincinnati will compete in its first event of the 2017-18 season when the squad takes on Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Ind., Friday, at 3 p.m. ET (diving) 6 p.m. ET (swimming).
 
ECU will look to begin its 2017-18 season unbeaten as they travel to Annapolis, Md. to compete against Navy Friday evening with a 4 p.m. ET start time. Jesse Lyman and John Newell join the coaching staff as the Pirates’ new diving and assistant swimming coaches.
 
Tulane will host SMU Friday at 4 p.m. ET at the Reily Student-Recreation Center Natatorium. The Green Wave is 1-1 to open the 2017-18 season after double-dual action with LSU and Loyola-New Orleans. Tulane defeated Loyola, 245-39, while falling to LSU 175-125.
 
SMU faces American Athletic Conference opponent Tulane, Friday, at 4 p.m. ET at the Reily Student-Recreation Center Natatorium. The Mustangs and Green Wave have squared off four times dating back to the 1982-83 season. SMU leads the all-time series 4-0.
 
Men’s Swimming and Diving
Cincinnati will hit the road for its first event of the 2017-18 season when the squad travels to take on intrastate foe Indianapolis Friday, at 3 p.m. ET (diving) and 6 p.m. ET (swimming).
 
ECU begins its season Friday as they travel to Annapolis, Md. to compete against Navy with a start time slated for 4 p.m. ET. The Pirates announced two new additions to its coaching staff late August. Jesse Lyman will serve as ECU’s new diving coach, while John Newell joins as an assistant swimming coach.
