PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for Week 6 of the college football season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Riley Ferguson • Sr. • QB • Memphis • Matthews, N.C.
Ferguson tied an American Athletic Conference record with seven touchdown passes to lead Memphis to a 70-31 win at UConn. Ferguson had five touchdown passes in the first half, helping the Tigers take a 35-24 lead at halftime, and he added two more TDs in the third quarter to help Memphis pull away. Ferguson completed 34 of 48 passes for 431 yards and registered his third career game with at least six touchdown passes in 18 career starts.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Terrell Williams • Sr. • DB • Houston • Lawton, Okla.
Williams had five tackles, a pass breakup and two fourth-quarter interceptions to lead Houston to a 35-22 win against SMU. Both of Williams’ interceptions came inside the red zone on the Mustangs’ two drives as the Cougars held SMU to 27 points fewer than their season average entering the game.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bennett Moehring • So. • K • Navy • Bentonville, Ark.
Moehring made a pair of second-half field goals and was perfect on six PATs to account for 12 points in Navy’s 48-45 win against Air Force.

Completed 16 of 19 passes for 374 yards and five touchdowns in a 51-23 win at Cincinnati.
Tre’Quan Smith • Jr. • WR • UCF • Delray Beach, Fla.
Had five receptions for 165 yards and three touchdowns along with a rushing touchdown in a 51-23 win at Cincinnati.
Anthony Miller • Sr. • WR • Memphis • Memphis, Tenn.
Had 15 reception for 224 yards and four touchdowns in a 70-31 win at UConn.
Zach Abey • Jr. • QB • Navy • Pasadena, Md.
Rushed for 214 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 86 yards and two TDs, including the game-winning score with 15 seconds left, in a 48-45 win against Air Force
Dontrell Hilliard • Sr. • RB • Tulane • Baton Rouge, La.
Rushed for 175 yards and four touchdowns in a 62-28 win against Tulsa.
