SMU's Milton, Chargois Collect Initial Weekly Honors



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the week of Nov. 6-12.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Shake Milton · Jr. · G · SMU · Owasso, Okla.
Milton earns his first career player of the week honors after leading SMU to a 2-0 week to open the season. The American Preseason Player of the Year scored a career-high 28 points in the Mustangs’ 78-67 win over UMBC on Friday before following up with 24 points as SMU rolled past ULM, 83-65. Overall, Milton was 14-for-31 from the field, knocking down 16-of-17 free throws in the two wins.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ethan Chargois · Fr. · F · SMU · Tulsa, Okla.
Chargois collects the first rookie of the week honor of the season after averaging 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in the Mustangs’ two victories. In SMU’s season-opening win, Chargois was 4-of-7 from the floor en route to 15 points. On Sunday, the freshman went 8-of-12 from field, including a 3-of-5 effort from 3-point range, finishing with 23 points to go along with nine rebounds.
 
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Terry Larrier · R-Jr. · G/F · UConn · Bronx, N.Y.
In his return from an ACL injury, Larrier led the Huskies with a career-high 27 points in UConn’s 70-58 win over Colgate. Larrier went 11-of-18 from the field, adding six rebounds.
 
Samir Sehic · R-So. · F · Tulane · Cypress, Texas
In his Tulane debut, Sehic came off the bench to post a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. In just 23 minutes, Sehic went 7-for-11 from the floor, helping the Green Wave notch a 102-96 victory in their season-opener.

Da Silva led the Bulls to a 60-59 victory in head coach Brian Gregory’s debut, scoring a career-high 20 points. Overall, Da Silva went 6-for-11 from the field, including his first career 3-pointer.
 
Darral Willis Jr. · Sr. · F · Wichita State · Madison, Wis.
Willis Jr. was dominant in #7/8 Wichita State’s season-opening victory over UMKC. In 22 minutes, Willis Jr. recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds, going 6-of-11 as the Shockers cruised to a 52-point win, 109-57.
 
Armoni Brooks · So. · G · Houston · Round Rock, Texas
Moving into the starting lineup, Brooks recorded a career-high 22 points in Houston’s 81-53 victory over McNeese State. Brooks connected on 8-of-11 shots from the field, including 5-of-8 from beyond the 3-point line.
